Synchronizing your system's time with an authoritative source, such as the University of Toronto's time servers, is a foundational requirement for detecting and investigating security concerns through accurate system and audit logs.

Use of institutionally managed solutions.

  • Are you using an institutionally managed system? If yes, then you don’t need to worry about altering your system’s time settings – it will already be synced to the U of T time servers.


What can I do?

U of T Network Time Protocol (NTP) Servers.

Synchronize your system’s clock with one of the following U of T time servers.

Setting up your device to synchronize with the above time servers.

Windows.

Windows Server.

MacOS.

Linux.
